Tax advisors · 20 years taking on HMRC
Most businesses don’t come unstuck because they did something wrong.
They come unstuck because they faced HMRC alone.
That’s the part we change.

How it works
We take HMRC off your desk
Forward the HMRC correspondence. We tell you exactly what it means and what's at stake, straight, no jargon.
We become your single point of contact. Every response goes through us, on time, professionally worded, strategically considered.
From first reply to final outcome, we handle the lot, and keep you posted in plain English the whole way.

Standing between businesses and HMRC.
From your first letter to the final outcome.
You’ll know the cost before we lift a finger.
Backed by specialist accountants and solicitors.
What’s at stake
The penalty stacks on top of the tax, and climbs fast
HMRC penalties are charged as a percentage of the tax due, and the band depends on how they judge your behaviour. The right disclosure and representation can bring them right down, often to the bottom of the band, sometimes to nil. That gap is the whole game.
Maximum penalties as a percentage of the tax due (HMRC statutory bands). Reduced for unprompted disclosure and cooperation, which is exactly where we come in.
What resolution looks like
The outcomes we fight for
Illustrative of the matters we handle and the resolutions we pursue, every case turns on its own facts.
Compliance check
A routine HMRC check, taken over and kept routine, closed with no adjustment and no penalty.
Tax investigation
A full enquiry managed from the first letter through to settlement, negotiated fairly, without escalation.
Penalty & disclosure
Penalties challenged and minimised through complete, carefully handled disclosure.
From the taxi rank to every industry.

Common questions
Straight answers to what businesses ask us most about HMRC.
What should I do when an HMRC letter arrives?
Don't reply in a panic. Forward the letter to us and we'll tell you exactly what it means and what is at stake. From there we become your single point of contact, so every response to HMRC goes out on time and properly worded.
What is the difference between a compliance check and a tax investigation?
A compliance check is HMRC verifying specific figures or returns. An investigation, often under COP8 or COP9, is broader and more serious. We handle both, and the right early response is what keeps a routine check from escalating.
How big can HMRC penalties be?
Penalties run from around 30% of the tax due for careless errors, up to 100% for deliberate and concealed behaviour. The right disclosure and representation can bring them down, often to the bottom of the band and sometimes to nil. That gap is where we work.
Do you only work with taxi businesses?
No. We were forged in the taxi trade, the most-investigated and cash-scrutinised business there is, but we now act for businesses in every industry. If we can protect a cab firm from HMRC, we can protect you.
What is COP9 and should I worry about it?
COP9 is HMRC's Code of Practice 9, used where they suspect deliberate tax fraud. It offers a route to put things right through the Contractual Disclosure Facility, but the wording of your disclosure is critical. It is not something to face alone.
How much do you charge?
Fixed, upfront fees, agreed before we lift a finger, so you always know the cost. No hourly surprises. We'll tell you what the work involves and what it costs before you commit to anything.
